1.
My heart was safe and sound when it was sleeping. It knew exactly what it needed to keep it beating. It didn't miss you love, it was dead to the world. It didn't need very much of anything. When your words and your love dried up, and you were leaving.. I looked up into the stars and I started believing That they were not so far away if I could still see them shining They made everything about you feel closer to me. What got lost in the dark only means that it's missing. All we've seen to be real will hurt us again and again.
2.
If Heaven 02:53
If heaven was real and was here, it was in a store that only sold paper, and dreams to rest our hopes on. Alone, but slowly mending. No waiting for the storm, only the love we were sending into each others home. And there we were inside your building, in the shadow of the Vooruit and nothing else. A reflection of the last two standing so tall and golden...and then through the mall to spires ascending, and then we were home. Home....where I know in my heart I should be. (Give my love to the catbears and please say I'm sorry.)
3.
Dust 03:55
Baby, i’m so sorry to see you leave The more i remember, the more that i grieve for the love i couldn’t give you and how it lead you to believe i could be all things to you.. Well, maybe it just was not meant to be You like Bela Tarr and i love TV, for the way it so desperately wants me to see that everything that is real could be sweeter Baby i know i never gave you much All of our plans just slipped through our hands like dust Shame on me for so slowly wearing you down I’ll burn all my bridges before you leave town And live with the ghost that reminds me every day Of all the sweet love i threw away Baby i know i never gave you much All that we had before it turned bad was enough (For me it was enough) Now we’re dust
4.
Irena’s eyes....they are the hope of this world. The colour of skies that made you leave your home. I set aside a lifetime to find the moment, For something like the fire you don’t have to buy If you take all you want Can’t give it back once it’s gone Say you’ll look deeper for me In your heart, the part you keep.. What do we hide, as soon as someone is not looking? It’s just our pride, that no-one wants to see anyway Her hands are made of soap and sacrifice They’ll wash away your pain, they’ll wash away your disguise If you wait for so long, with just hope... Is something wrong? Why were you so nervous for me? In your heart, the part you keep.
5.
If you never let anyone see you, they’ll never let you shine, or abuse the trust they put in you Life is meant to be warm, you’re not feeling very warm Always the first to be scared of what you know, well at least you know your place But all that you can ask is ‘where does it get easier?’ I don’t know where to put my face, and your question’s a disgrace… But it won’t make me lie, even if there’s so much I could tell you You look so pleased they put your name down for the team, just as soon as you could crawl But it’s a fight to the death and none of it goes with you And just in case you don’t perform, well there’s a million more being born But it won’t make me lie, I’m here to say ‘you’ve got so much to live for’… It won’t change my mind, you know you’ve got so much to live for. I know you need to see more than I can show, I'm not being cruel if I turn my back on you. Use your heart to find your head and see it always say 'You know you've got so much to live for'
6.
Say you can’t face another season, but still hang around for more Say you don’t hear bells ringing outside your door Was it you who was really there, were you in your mind? Looking into the worst of yourself, and someone else’s eyes. We know we can’t go back because of what we’ve seen No chance to repair, no chance to explain. Say you don’t feel yourself breathing, and that I don’t care Say it made the silence stronger whenever I was there. Say by now it should be easier to wake up alone, Say by now it should be easier to put down the phone We know we can’t go back because of where we’ve been No chance to erase all the bad in me.
7.
The Party 02:48
Friendly faces all over town They do their best for you before you let them down, gently with sound. It’s so lonely in the DJ booth tonight All your friends stay at home, don’t come out in daylight Dark voices urging you on, to keep the party going You’re their number one, and they’ll love this one.. It’s so lonely in the DJ booth tonight Call your friends, call anyone…they never see daylight.
8.
Postcards 02:45
Postcards fade, but you don’t. Want to say the words, but we won’t The undertow, and the castles stones are better off without me The gilded light put some good in me Now I’m wasting away, and I can’t wait Wait, and wait, for the day. Next to my door, a corridor that leads to your door A wealth of pain washed ashore again Next to my door, a corridor that leads to your door A wealth of pain to ignore again.
9.
Islands 03:28
We lived on an island in the middle of my head Spent seven, eight, years sleeping, woke up when we were dead You always had a theory, I always had a cold Saving pennies for future’s, won’t turn ash into gold Watching out for all those hidden traps I’ve been caught in before, And before was too far to fall. Look at all you have to show for…Look at all you have to forget Trophies and birthday cards, inflated regret Catching up with all my nightmares and ghosts, they don’t keep in touch much anymore Until I can love you less than before. (I just love you more)
10.
Remains 04:41
When you said that you could see me in your future, were you looking into the dark? Had all the light in heaven been swallowed or stolen, never leaving you a spark? You once knew what joy was to behold, so you held it like a new born lamb in your arms Couldn’t see that something so sweet could ever leave you, and leave you with so many scars. Now you don’t wait for love to show its face, and there’s no time to live when your heart is so busy trying to give. And now you see me in your past and I’m a shadow clinging on to what isn’t mine. Looking for ways to mourn you forever and ever, looking for ways to kill my time. So I don’t wait for love to show its face, and there’s no time to live when your heart is so busy trying to give, and you know what it is you are left with……what are you left with? What are you left with? What are you left with?
11.
Cruel words invaded your head, they tried to tame your heart and your spirit, with lies designed to put you in your place, there’s no mercy in the heart of evil. Watching your world disappear into the blue again All I can see on your face is the fear they have place in you, waiting so long to drag you down and interfere with all that’s keeping you alive. Made strong by the mistakes you made, they serve as warnings to the disbelievers that mock you and criticise. Holding yourself in the dark, no-one to soothe or warm your soul Isn’t it time they started believing in you, like I do…what have you got to lose if you’re alive? Through the forests of blood to the yawning abyss of my future, don’t let me say it was your tears I loved you for best.
